Professor El Khoury earned her Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures from Harvard University in 2016. She previously taught at Tufts University as Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Literature, before returning to Paris and joining ������ in 2024 as Assistant Professor of French Studies.

She is also a clinical psychologist, having completed her Master 2 in Clinical Psychology at Université Paris Cité in 2026.

Her research deals with twentieth- and twenty-first-century French and Francophone cultures, literature, and theory (philosophy, psychoanalysis), with special emphasis on North Africa and the Middle East, as well as Metropolitan France. Her work increasingly bridges literary scholarship and clinical practice, with a focus on trauma, memory, narrativity, and the processes of symbolization. Her publications include Remnants of the Franco-Algerian Rupture: Archiving Postcolonial Minorities (Lexington Books, 2020) and the co-edited collective volume Migrations humaines et mutations environnementales (Nouvelles Études Francophones, University of Nebraska Press, 2024). She is a contributor to the online magazine K. Jews, Europe, the XXIst century.
